Serves as Principle Owner of Converge Concepts. With over 18 years of hospitality experience under his belt, he launched his consulting company in 2018 Specializing in new restaurant development. Prior to Converge Concepts, Mr. Van Nortwick held the title of Vice President of Operations for the Grand Restaurant Group (2014-2018) where he played a crucial role in the companies expansion from a single outlet to owning and operating five locations, including the highly successful Hula Hula’s Restaurant within the Grand Naniloa Hotel in Hilo Hawaii and highly regarded-recognized Fine Dining Restaurant Ponsaty’s in Rancho Santa Fe.
Prior to his position at GRG, Mr. Van Nortwick worked with some of the best chef talents in San Diego in the capacity of General Manager & Wine Director. While working hard and contributing to the success of each establishment, he honed his skills as a seasoned front of house operator earning many accolades including Wine Spectator Grand Award of Excellence, SD MAG Best Service Award, Readers Choice Best French Restaurant, as well as very positive reviews for his design work in Home in Garden and Travel Weekly.
